Top 3 ingredients of a perfect self-catering holiday home in Southwest France

Receiving feedback from our clients is a great pleasure. We read carefully what they say, so that Kingfisher can continue to provide superb holiday accommodation.

Now, with the 2018 season finished and people thinking about their 2019 booking, we’d like to share a sample of our visitors’ opinions. Guests highlight three key ingredients in the perfect self-catering holiday home in the Quercy and Lot Valley areas.

Quality Properties

A comfortable house situated in a lovely setting tops your list of priorities. Your gite, farmhouse or villa has to be beautiful, functional and suited to both easy living and holiday fun. It’s your home away from home, after all. So we’re delighted that we get such great feedback about the homes we let.

One guest tells us, “La Roc de Lapalue is one of the best properties (if not the best) we have ever stayed in.” Another says of Bosc Grand that it, “is the most beautiful house, and superbly equipped with everything one could need”. We’re especially delighted when you’re surprised. For example, a client commented, “Rarely does a holiday property exceed expectations, but Comte did”. And at Presbytere Tissac, “The house was even better than we expected”.

In addition to fantastic interiors, Kingfisher properties have beautiful exteriors, with terraces, gardens, pools and views.

It’s clear from your feedback that Kingfisher’s high quality accommodation impresses you most. Next, you highlight our great locations.

Kingfisher properties are tucked away in unspoiled countryside or nestled in quaint villages. Clients also love being near our region’s stone villages and characterful towns where they can shop, tour and enjoy local history, markets and entertainment. The Quercy and Lot Valley provide a unique balance between country idyll and rustic village.

A guest at the French Farmhouse commented, “Beautiful rural situation with lovely woodland walks. Easy access to the nearest town Montaigu de Quercy, with restaurants … and a supermarket….Beautiful, archetypal French villages and bastides a short drive away, especially Lauzerte and Tournon d’Agenais (superb creperie) “.

At Rabiole, a client commented, “We recommend this location … to have a relaxing time. Cahors (main big city) is about half an hour driving. You have a lot of other small villages around to get the daily needs (bread, wine, supermarket…) and don’t forget to visit the Sunday or Thursday local market in Montcuq, absolutely awesome (typical village, lot of local producers, only quality food!)”.

Those are just two examples. All our houses manage this refined balance between seclusion and convenience.

As local specialists, we know that we are uniquely placed to provide excellent service. But it’s always nice to hear that our efforts are appreciated. A visitor to Lacoste Bas commented that the “web site is excellent, giving us all the information we needed….. Furthermore it was all accurate”. At Bosc Grand, a client wanted “to compliment the Kingfisher representative, who was extremely professional and helpful…”. And from La Tuque, a guest told us, “…the house manager is a real asset, she is very knowledgeable and efficient”.

In an era of internet for everything, at Kingfisher we’re also on the end of a telephone to help you find the right property and make the most of your holiday.

Much more to say…

This was just small sample of the generous comments from Kingfisher clients. We invite you to explore our website to find a villa, gite, farmhouse or cottage for your next stay in the Quercy or Lot Valley.
