The popular villages of Montaigu de Quercy and Montcuq are approx 10km away. Both have well attended markets, (one on Saturday and the other on Sunday), restaurants, supermarkets, boulangeries and bathing lakes with beaches and tennis. The lake at Montaigu de Quercy also has water slides, pedalos and canoes for hire. During the summer there are atmospheric night markets where you can eat what you have bought at tressle tables and listen to live music at the vineyard of Chateau D’Aix on Wednesdays and the nearby bastide town of Tournon D’Agenais on Fridays. The property is also well situated for exploring the larger historical towns of Cahors and Moissac; and the ancient castle of Boneguil.
A large covered terrace with dining table and chairs leads into a well equipped kitchen with gas/electric range, coffee maker, 2 fridges and dishwasher. From the kitchen, a door opens into a spacious beamed sitting room with comfy sofas, a wood burning stove, dining table and eight chairs. French satellite TV, DVD player, Internet is available at the house but neither Kingfisher or the owner are liable for any loss or interruption ( such as storms etc) of internet service.
Off the sitting room is a large furnished balcony providing another area to relax and take in the wonderful views.
All three bedrooms in the house are comfortably furnished with 160 cm x 200 cm beds and wardrobes. There is a single bed available which can be placed in any of the bedrooms in the house to change the sleeping configuration, if required.
Bedroom one, situated off a corridor from the kitchen is a light 45 sq.m room with a large en-suite shower room accessed down 3 steps with double sinks, WC & walk in shower.
Bedroom two and three are adjacent and on the floor below, down a staircase from the sitting room. Each room is 30 sq.m with en-suite shower rooms and WC’s. The rooms have french doors opening onto their own private covered terrace under the balcony, furnished with chairs and coffee tables.
Bedroom 4 is in the adjacent studio building. Behind the double bed is a partition which provides privacy to the walk in shower, WC and wash hand basin.
A washing machine,dryer and table tennis are also in this building.
The 10m x 5m heated swimming pool is entered by large integrated steps and surrounded by attractive wooden decking, which is furnished with loungers and outdoor sofa and chairs. To one corner of the decking is a delightful summer kitchen with sink, fridge/freezer ,a gas plancha and dining table and chairs. There is also a poolside solar shower and a WC and wash hand basin behind the summer kitchen. Given the wonderful views and the submersed pool lighting it is difficult to know why you would ever want to leave this area! The pool is fitted with an electrically operated pool cover.
