…Montcuq was a former mediaeval stronghold, with a castle tower dominating over the village. Occupied by English armies in the 100 years war, it is ideally placed for exploring the area’s other picturesque villages and medieval bastide towns, the beautiful chateaux and the Cahors vineyards.
The property is set down a small rural lane, with its own private garden, swimming pool and views. The accommodation has 3/4 bedrooms, and 2 WCs sleeping up to 6/8 people and retains many of its lovely original features.
The entrance has an open terrace area with outside table and chairs and a BBQ. The front door leads into a dining area, with open fire place, table and chairs. The adjoining sitting room has comfortable seating with views out to the pool area. There is Satellite (Freesat) TV and DVD player. The kitchen, though small is well equipped with a electric cooker, microwave, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and there is a filter coffee machine (guests will need to take some filter papers) and there are two cafeterias. Also on this level is a bedroom with double bed and a shower room with WC. In addition there is a laundry room with a washing machine and a drying area.
Leading up from the open exposed stairs, is a landing area, leading to 2 bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, alongside is the bathroom with a bath and shower attachment, basin and WC. Bedroom 3 has a 5ft bed. There is an additional bedroom (up some fairly steep stairs) into the loft area which has a 5ft bed.
Linen is included, but please bring your own swimming pool towels. There is a phone for local calls and Wi-Fi available at the house but neither Kingfisher or the owner are liable for any loss or interruption (such as storms, etc.) of internet service..
Outside there is a lovely (salt) 10m x 5m swimming pool, which can be heated on request at an extra charge. The garden has views over the surrounding countryside.

It is a very nice house. Near by Montcuq, so it is easy to do shopping and still it is a very private location! Mr N.B . Abcoude,The Netherlands
Very nice Gite in a beautiful area of France, rooms a good size ,salt water pool fantastic.
Montcuq village nearby which has good cafe’s and restaurants ,plus a really good Carrefour supermarket and petrol station.
Linda the house manager is a real asset ,she is very knowledgeable and efficient. Mr & Mrs G, Bridgend
Tranquil, great situation being isolated yet within easy distance of Montcuq, with Sunday market and supermarket all the week. The pool is so lovely with plenty of space around, and the mature tree and shrubs in the garden make it a great place to relax. We didn’t travel far afield but found some very pleasant walks. I would certainly recommend La Tuque for anyone wanting a restful, comfortable holiday. Linda was great! Mrs S,R. Penzance
La Tuque is a great place to stay, it Is a warm and welcoming place and it’s really cosy. We loved to spend our evenings at the covered terrace, where even with rain one can enjoy the outdoors. Montcuq is a charming village and La Tuque is great place to explore the wonderful Quercy region. The pool is a real joy for everyone and we also enjoyed the barbecue terrace with friends and family. It’s a house we would really like to come back to! Mr N.B Abcoude, The Netherlands
We had a lovely time at La Tuque. It was an ideal house for us and we all felt very much at home. Everything about it was perfect….even the weather was better than it might have been. We all left hoping to return and maybe that will come true. Best wishes, David
We had a wonderful time at La Tuque. The property was stunning as was the area, and the Vet you recommended was brilliant. We enjoyed many long walks in and around Montcuq – especially walking up to the Chateau at the top of our lane – stunning. All in all a great holiday and yes we will be back again. Thanks for a great holiday. Miss A C., Warwickshire
We had a wonderful time at La Tuque, with great weather too. It’s a lovely villa, and I’m sure we’ll be booking with you again. Mr Drover
We had an extremely good holiday and it was very hard to leave La Tuque after the two weeks. We got back to Mauritius this Tuesday and it is hard to get back into things. We are already thinking about another holiday at La Tuque. Linda (the Manager) was really nice and friendly. Many thanks for the good and professional services. Kind regards, Mrs B.R-L., Mauritius
