Accessed by its own private lane, it is set in rolling countryside between the charming medieval Bastide village of Lauzerte and the small town of Montaigu de Quercy. Both villages have popular weekly farmer’s markets, supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants. Nearby is a wonderful natural leisure lake with a man made beach, pedalos, tennis courts, fly boarding and beach side café etc. Lauzerte, one of the “most beautiful villages in France” and formerly a stop on the route of pilgrims to Compostelle, regularly hosts concerts, night markets and cultural events. For the more adventurous, there is a nearby parachute school which offers buddy jumps!
Each half of the property has its own light and airy open plan living room comprising a sitting area with comfy sofas, dining tables (which when combined will seat 10), and well equipped kitchen. There are TVs/DVD players for playing DVD’s. Each kitchen is fitted with a cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge/freezer. In one side is a utility room with sink, washing machine, shower room and separate WC and in the other the washing machine is fitted into the kitchen and there is a separate toilet and shower room, on this floor.
An open staircase from each living area leads up to the bedrooms. From one stair case there is Bedroom 1 with a Double bed and shower en suite. Bedroom 2 and 3 are each furnished with twin beds. There is a shower room and WC serving these bedrooms. The other staircase leads to Bedroom 4 with a Double, 4 poster iron bed and to Bedroom 5 which has twin beds. There is another shower room and WC. Linen is inclusive (except for swimming pool towels). There is no telephone but internet is available with the usual proviso that neither Kingfisher nor the owner are liable for any loss or interruption (due to storms etc.) of internet service
Outside, the terraces are furnished with table, chairs and a BBQ. Small steps lead to the paved pool area supplied with loungers and parasols and a 12m x 6m salt pool. The lovely big gardens have an area for playing Boules, and lots of grass areas with plenty of room for ball games. The property managers live with their family in a house behind the renovated barn, It is entirely separate from the main house ensuring that the gardens, the terraced areas and around the swimming pool are entirely private for tenants. They will deal with any problems and assist with any information if required. (Due to the proximity of the parachute school nearby , there are small planes taking off and landing during the day)
