In the mornings it’s a short walk to collect bread from the local bakery or enjoy some lunch later at the bistro bar under the arches of the village square. The nearest big town is Moissac and well worth a visit. The ancient town stands on the river Tarn and along the Canal du Midi where Rick Stein made one of his culinary visits. The old town has medieval buildings and in the centre, is the ancient abbey and Cloisters. At the weekends there is the lively food market with a great selection of food and wines for those summer evening BBQs. Also not far from the property and well worth a visit is the medieval town of Lauzerte, one of the prettiest villages in France with amazing views and steeped in history. There is also not too far to the village of Beauville, which again is situated high up overlooking the far-reaching countryside and with a lovely evening market during the season.

Clean, well provided for property – had everything we needed. Quiet and peaceful location, in a very pretty area of France. Property on the ground floor does have a few sections of stairs so not ideal for those with mobility problems. Local shops 10 min walk up the lane which is uphill, so not ideal for those unsure of foot, but well provided by bakers, small co-op/spar type shop. Places to visit 15/20 minutes by car or further. We had a relaxing stay. Mr & Mrs J, Reigate
