The town of Tournon d’Agenais is a Royal bastide town from 1271 and on the route of St Jaques de Compostella with a lovely square and belfry tower with superb views, restaurants, small supermarket, butcher and boulanger, also there a is a Friday evening market during July and August.
The medieval bastide towns were fortified and usually built on hilltops, some by the English and some French. Most of these towns are well preserved and many have good restaurants. Penne d’Agenais, Monflanquin, Villereal and Villeneuve-sur-Lot which are also bastides towns are close by. Penne d’Agenais is a most attractive hillside restored village with lovely views over the Lot river. It has several cafes and restaurants and is a pretty cobbled street tourist village. It used to have a castle built by Richard Coeur de Lion and has an interesting basilica.

Borie is a real gem. Tranquil and spacious location, well equipped and very comfortable. Pool is superb. Plenty to do and see. Easy local walks, accessible cycling,1km from local tennis court, 5km from Tournon d Agenias for bread and a great marche gourmand on Friday evenings. Big supermarkets are not too far. You can easily see why people keep wanting to come back. Mr P. E, Edinburgh, Scotland
The Borie is a beautiful property and a great space for 6-7 guests. The salt water pool makes a real difference – so refreshing in the heat, and without the chlorine. The amazing ‘Mimosa’ tree is a real highlight of the property. The way the sunset catches it and casts a pink glow on the patio will stay long in the memory. The views are wonderful, with Tournon D’Agenais sitting on top of it’s peak on the horizon, about 10 mins by car down the road. One of our favourite holiday houses of recent times. Getting there is easy due to high quality roads, kitchen well appointed. Rooms nicely presented. We would go back – but we are likely to be tempted by another Kingfisher property instead next time! Mr D.C, St Albans
Borie is set in a beautiful location in the countryside and perfect for a quiet getaway. As we were a family of 7, it was great for space, comfort and catering. The things we loved the most was dining outside watching the sunset and swimming the huge pool!
Great for kids. I would totally recommend this place and hope to come back. Thanks. Miss G.K.London
Our 8th visit in 11 years probably says it all. Totally private, calm and peaceful with a view from the pool to die for. Whilst you feel remote and away from civilization, Borie is only a short distance from the amazing markets with fresh produce and excellent local restaurants. Mr & Mrs M, Stocksfield.
We had a lovely holiday at beautiful Borie. Mr & Mrs Williams, Royston.
We did have a great week and enjoyed the House and especially the pool …… we hardly left the property all week!! Mrs C,W. Canterbury
We had a wonderful time at Borie, after holidaying for 6 years in this area this is the first house we have all agreed we would return to. I expect this is something that we will be doing in 2018, unfortunately work commitments are probably going to make this impossible for 2017. Paul was excellent and very helpful throughout and added to the holiday. Mr Frank, Guilford
We had another lovely holiday at Borie and will definitely be back at some point. Mrs K L,Herford
Our stay at Borie was fabulous, a wonderful house, way beyond our expectations. Mr S F S,Gloucester
