Borie is a beautifully restored Quercy Blanc stone farmhouse overlooking the pretty Courbiac valley with stunning panoramic views of the 13th century Bastide town of Tournon d’Agenais, in South-West France.

The town of Tournon d’Agenais is a Royal bastide town from 1271 and on the route of St Jaques de Compostella with a lovely square and belfry tower with superb views, restaurants, small supermarket, butcher and boulanger, also there a is a Friday evening market during July and August.

The medieval bastide towns were fortified and usually built on hilltops, some by the English and some French. Most of these towns are well preserved and many have good restaurants. Penne d’Agenais, Monflanquin, Villereal and Villeneuve-sur-Lot which are also bastides towns are close by. Penne d’Agenais is a most attractive hillside restored village with lovely views over the Lot river. It has several cafes and restaurants and is a pretty cobbled street tourist village. It used to have a castle built by Richard Coeur de Lion and has an interesting basilica.

At the farmhouse you can relax in the peaceful large garden and the surrounding 29 acres of land attached to the property. The swimming pool (12m x 6m) is secluded behind the house with magnificent views along the valley. Mature trees provide cool shade for afternoons of relaxation.

The house has 4 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms and is comfortably furnished throughout. For smaller occupancy there is a option to sleep 6 people using 3 bedrooms only. The 4th Bedroom would be closed.

The spacious Sitting room has an open fireplace, beamed ceilings and a west facing covered terrace reached through double doors, where you can enjoy views of the hills and valley with the setting sun.

There is Sky TV (Freesat), a DVD player and hi-fi. The Kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, cooker, microwave, fridge etc.

On the ground floor there is a large double bedroom (1) with double bed and an en-suite Bathroom with a bath and shower and WC.

Stairs lead down to 3 further Double Bedrooms. Bedroom (2) has a double bed and has double doors leading out to the front garden. Bedroom 3 and 4 have twin beds. There is a second bathroom, with bath and shower attachment, basin and WC and a laundry room with washing machine. Linen is available for hire at £12.00 per person.

The garden is grassed with a number of large trees, box hedging, roses and numerous wild flowers. The surrounding land consists of fields and oak woodlands offering delightful country walks. The swimming pool has roman steps. Garden furniture, Table Tennis and a BBQ are provided.

July 2019

We first stayed at Borie 10 years ago and were not disappointed with our return visit. The large pool and vast private grounds are what we like the most, although this year we appreciated the cool downstairs bedrooms when the temperatures reached 40 degrees outside. Mr J,W. Glossop

Borie is a lovely house with a good, large pool and excellent views. The house has good-sized rooms. As a converted farmhouse with thick walls downstairs the bedrooms there are cool and comfortable in high summer.
Interesting wildlife seen from the house – fox, badger, deer, bats. Mr & Mrs H. Edinburgh

July 2018

Borie is a real gem. Tranquil and spacious location, well equipped and very comfortable. Pool is superb. Plenty to do and see. Easy local walks, accessible cycling,1km from local tennis court, 5km from Tournon d Agenias for bread and a great marche gourmand on Friday evenings. Big supermarkets are not too far. You can easily see why people keep wanting to come back. Mr P. E, Edinburgh, Scotland

July 2018

The Borie is a beautiful property and a great space for 6-7 guests. The salt water pool makes a real difference – so refreshing in the heat, and without the chlorine. The amazing ‘Mimosa’ tree is a real highlight of the property. The way the sunset catches it and casts a pink glow on the patio will stay long in the memory. The views are wonderful, with Tournon D’Agenais sitting on top of it’s peak on the horizon, about 10 mins by car down the road. One of our favourite holiday houses of recent times. Getting there is easy due to high quality roads, kitchen well appointed. Rooms nicely presented. We would go back – but we are likely to be tempted by another Kingfisher property instead next time! Mr D.C, St Albans

May 2018

Borie is set in a beautiful location in the countryside and perfect for a quiet getaway. As we were a family of 7, it was great for space, comfort and catering. The things we loved the most was dining outside watching the sunset and swimming the huge pool!
Great for kids. I would totally recommend this place and hope to come back. Thanks. Miss G.K.London

August 2017

Our 8th visit in 11 years probably says it all. Totally private, calm and peaceful with a view from the pool to die for. Whilst you feel remote and away from civilization, Borie is only a short distance from the amazing markets with fresh produce and excellent local restaurants. Mr & Mrs M, Stocksfield.

We had a lovely holiday at beautiful Borie. Mr & Mrs Williams, Royston.

July 2017

We did have a great week and enjoyed the House and especially the pool …… we hardly left the property all week!! Mrs C,W. Canterbury

July 2016

We had a wonderful time at Borie, after holidaying for 6 years in this area this is the first house we have all agreed we would return to. I expect this is something that we will be doing in 2018, unfortunately work commitments are probably going to make this impossible for 2017. Paul was excellent and very helpful throughout and added to the holiday. Mr Frank, Guilford

August 2013

We had another lovely holiday at Borie and will definitely be back at some point. Mrs K L,Herford

We are just arrived after one fantastic week of holiday in Borie. The house is well furnished with a lovely pool in a beautiful area and we loved it. Of course don’t forget the excellent service of Paul en Michelle (managers). Hopefully we can repeat this holiday next year. M.V,Belguim
