Where to Go in and Around the French Tourist Town of St Sylvestre
If you are looking for the perfect holiday accommodation in a quiet location, Kingfisher has some wonderful farmhouses to let in and around the picturesque tourist town of Saint Slyvestre, South West France – a ten minute drive from Villeneuve-sur-Lot and just 16 miles from Agen. Our holiday homes provide ample accommodation for families in beautiful surroundings overlooking open countryside….and of course, all of Kingfisher’s holiday villas, farmhouses, cottages and gites are rented with full use of a pool.
The attractive, rapidly growing small town of Saint Sylvestre is situated on the pretty River Lot and has a population of more than 2,300 inhabitants (it has almost doubled in size since the 1960s). Along with a collection of shops (including a bakery, grocers and bar restaurant), it also has a weekly Saturday market, where you can practice your French and buy fresh produce from the local area. If you are renting a villa in July, the town hosts a few festivals including the Feast of the River and Silurade, a fishing contest and, on Bastille Day, the Big Jump off the bridge followed by a grand fireworks display – which makes an excellent photo opportunity.
