This very charming, secluded L-shaped 18th C former Presbytery, built of lovely stone with exposed beams, is situated in rolling countryside south of Cahors, on the border of Lot and Tarn et Garonne. 80 kms from Toulouse airport.

It has a Mediterranean-style garden and swimming pool. There are extensive lawns on the east side, offering sun and shade throughout the day, further land and terraces, water features and idyllic, low-key views. The beautifully maintained church alongside is very rarely used (no bells or chimes), and there is no through traffic. The nearest of the surrounding farms, all growing crops like sunflowers, is several hundred yards away.

This corner of Quercy, with its secret valleys, is the real ‘France profonde’ that those who have endured the traffic jams of the Dordogne or Côte d’Azur hot-spots will love. Yet the cathedral cities of Cahors and Montauban, Moissac on the banks of the Tarn, the hill-top towns like Lauzerte dating from the Hundred Years War, Montpezat with its collegiate church, the 3-star Pech Merle and Gouffre de Padirac cave systems, Rocamadour, St Cirq Lapopie, St Antonin Noble Val (location for the film Charlotte Gray) and Bonaguil Castle can all be visited in half a day. Toulouse with its superb historic centre, Carcassonne, Sarlat, Cordes and Albi deserve full day expeditions.

The entrance hall leads to the old kitchen, now restored and equipped with a 7-foot pool table, and to a cool double bedroom (1) with 5'3" (1m60) double bed and Bathroom (1) with bath with shower attachment, bidet, basin and separate WC.

Wide, shallow stone stairs and Toulouse-brick archways lead to the first floor and the main accommodation of a very well equipped   kitchen / dining room. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, excellent kitchen knives and utensils, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble drier.

Through a door from the kitchen is a charmingly furnished children's nursery with small tables and chairs, dolls, blackboard and toys. Beyond this room is a Shower room (2) with basin and WC. Bedroom (2) with 5'3" (1m60) double bed. Bathroom (3) with bath, shower, basin and separate WC. Bedroom (3) with 5'3" (1m60) double bed.

Spacious sitting room with east and south facing windows and with Satellite TV receiving BBC 1,2,3,4,5, French TV  and Radio, and a VCR.There is also a music player to play radio, CD and tape, and a cupboard of games and books.

Following the superb restoration of the air-conditioned second floor, there is Bedroom (4) with 5'3" (1m60) double bed and ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, twin basins and WC, Bedroom (5) with twin beds, Bedroom (6) with twin beds which can be pushed together to make a double bed, Bathroom (5), on the landing, has bath with shower attachment, basin and WC.

English pillows (both feather and synthetic), duvets and blankets are provided as well as two high chairs, cot, a child's gate, fans, hairdryer, First Aid Kit and easels for the artists

The swimming pool, heated to 28º C / 82º F by a heat pump during the season, has a safety cover in line with the legislation. The pool surround is paved, and an ‘umbrella’ mulberry shades the adjoining terrace, with its mature shrubs, numerous pot-plants and herb garden. On the east side, wild-flower meadows and lawns alongside a pond and stream lead to a paved terrace and Quercy-style pigeonnier.

Games and leisure facilities include bicycles for all ages, ping pong, croquet, darts, table football and boules. There is good quality garden furniture. (Please bring your swimming pool towels)
