Lasbardelles is an old stone farmhouse imaginatively modernised to make a comfortable home and is an ideal place for a holiday. It lies 2 kms from the pretty Bastide village of Castelsagrat where there is a good restaurant, a baker, small supermarket, hairdresser and post office. A small vegetable market is held on Sunday mornings.

Valence d'Agen, on the Canal du Midi, is 8km away with four attractive squares and a variety of cafes, restaurants, shops & 3 supermarkets. A large & comprehensive market is held there every Tuesday.

The mediaeval Bastide towns were fortified and usually built on hilltops. The countryside here is very beautiful and most Bastide towns and villages are well kept and have good restaurants and delightful views. Lauzerte & Montjoi, both hilltop Bastides, Montcuq & Moissac are nearby. Toulouse Airport is 60 minutes away via the A62 motorway (exit 8).

A covered terrace at the front of the house provides cool shade and there is a sunny courtyard off the kitchen with potted palms, table, chairs, parasol & barbecue and steps up to the pool.

The galleried lounge has oak beams, comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove, CD & cassette player, and satellite television with Sky Freeview, BBC, ITV, video & DVD players and door to the terrace. An archway leads to the dining room, with table & chairs and door to the courtyard.

 

The kitchen is large, with table & chairs & is equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, 2 fridge freezers, microwave & electric kettle. Off the hall is a bathroom with bath, shower, basin & bidet and there is a separate WC. The utility room houses the washing-machine & electrically heated hot water cylinder. There is oil central heating and a telephone.

Stairs from the hall lead up to Bedroom 1 (king-size bed) via the gallery, to Bedroom 2 (twin beds), Bedroom 3 (twin beds) and Shower room, with basin & WC. Blankets & duvets are provided; linen is for hire.

Outside, there are sloping grasslands, lawns with specimen trees, a raised goldfish pond, woodland and a level area by the pool for ball-games. The 10m x 5m pool has Roman steps & is in the sunshine all day, though there is a lounging area shaded by trees if desired. There is a gas barbecue in the sunny courtyard and a ping-pong table on the covered front terrace.
