A Beautiful, charming Quercy stone house, situated in open farmland, 5 kms from pretty bastide town of Tournon d'Agenais. The town of Tournon d’Agenais is a Royal bastide town from 1271 and on the route of St Jaques de Compostella with a lovely square and belfry tower with superb views, restaurants, small supermarket, butcher and boulanger, also there a is a Friday evening market during July and August and during the season there are Jazz concerts & dances.
The medieval bastide towns were fortified and usually built on hilltops, some by the English and some French. Most of these towns are well preserved and many have good restaurants. Penne d'Agenais, Monflanquin, Villereal and Villeneuve-sur-Lot which are also bastides towns are close by. The area is on the edge of the famous Cahors wine region so plenty of places to try the various wines. There are many rivers for fishing and canoeing, leisure lakes, well signposted walks, and tennis locally. The property is a perfect for a family holiday to relax around the lovely swimming pool or there are many things to see and do.
The property is situated along a quiet rural lane and has views across the surrounding countryside. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 Bath/Shower rooms & 4WCs to sleep 8 people. There is a large sitting / living room with open fireplace and comfortable sofa's.
There is a TV,video, and Hi Fi player.
There is a well equipped kitchen, with a centre unit, a large cooker, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is a dining room with large table and seating for 8. Downstairs is a utility area with washing machine and spin dryer.
The principal (1)bedroom, has a large American 6ft bed, with a balcony and a private bathroom containing bath, basin and separate WC and shower. French doors open out overlooking the garden.
There is another double (2) bedroom with a double bed and private shower rooms with basin and WC.
Upstairs are Two bedrooms, one with a (3) double bed and the other with (4) twin beds. These share a shower room with basin and WC.
A pretty garden surrounds the house and there is a
12m x 6m swimming pool with Roman steps in lovely surroundings away from the house. There are terraces on three sides offering sun and shade as required
At the back of the property is a small self-contained private gite with separate entrance drive, parking and front door. It is entirely separate from the main house ensuring that the gardens, the terraced areas and around the swimming pool are entirely private for tenants. It is occupied by the house manager, who will deal with any problems and assist with any information if required.
Linen is for hire and there is a telephone for local calls and it maybe possible to arrange for internet access if required, but it is also advisable to bring your mobile phones.
