La Forge is an 18th century farm cottage, restored by the current owner and completely modernised in the latter part of 2002. It used to be the home of the village blacksmith - thus the name of the house La Forge, French for blacksmith . The property is situated within walking distance of the Dordogne River, in a quiet, peaceful village called Meyronne. On the banks of the Dordogne there are two open air swimming pools with eating facilities, safe riverside bathing, picnic areas and canoeing. The village itself is a small farming hamlet, with St. Sozy on the opposite bank of the Dordogne, across the Meyronne Bridge.

St. Sozy has an array of shops, restaurants, small hotels, bars, post office and even its own "brocante" - French for a bric-a-brac shop. La Forge backs on to fields and benefits from a southerly aspect, to the West are the Falaises, or local cliffs, while
to the East, the hill of Meyronne overlooks the cottage, from which, you can have a wonderful view of the village

The cottage is on two floors, There is a modern fitted breakfast kitchen, with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, a separate dining room and a large sitting room, with open fireplace and Free view satellite TV. There is also on the ground floor, Bedroom (1) with Double Bed and a bathroom. Upstairs is Bedroom (2) with Double Bed, Bedroom (3) with Twin Beds and Bedroom (4) with two singles, and another bathroom.

Directly to the front of the house is a roman patio, with both white and black grapes growing up it and an old bakehouse, also in the large gardens is a 10m x 5m swimming Pool, which is fully enclosed, garden furniture and a Barbecue. Bikes can be hired at the nearby town of Souillac.

There is a telephone and Linen is Included.
