‘La Bastide’ is a beautifully converted barn. Situated within walking distance of an 18 hole golf course and just under 3kms from the small town of Castlenaud de Gratecome in the lovely Lot region of South-West France. It is in an ideal place for exploring the area’s picturesque villages and medieval bastide towns, such as Villeneuve Sur Lot with a pedestrianised centre for restaurants and boutiques, whereas out of town there is a large shopping area. Penne d’Agenais has a magnificent domed Church which can be seen from many miles away. Penne also boasts a good tourist office from where you can arrange a guided tour of the town. Monflanauin was founded in 1256, it has a most attractive arcaded centre with several restaurants. These towns have many entertaining events during the summer. For those looking for activities it is perfect with the Golf course next door, tennis, cycling, fishing and horse riding are nearby. La Bastide has been tastefully restored and is full of character and charm, with 4 Bedrooms, 3 Bath/ shower rooms and 3 WCs. There is a well equipped Kitchen with a halogen hob, new electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, 2 large fridge/freezers and dining table. Next to this is the utility room with washing machine, sink and airier. The beamed Lounge has a large open fireplace, with comfortable seating, a TV (French only) with video and CD player. There is a raised dining area leading in to the Snooker room, containing a full size table. In addition there is also another separate WC. From the Kitchen and Snooker room doors lead out to a wonderful Auvent (covered terrace area) with a large dining table.
Of the 4 bedrooms, Bedroom 1 next to the sitting room has twin beds, Bedrooms 2 & 3 have double beds and Bedroom 4 has a 5ft bed. All are of a good size containing wardrobes and attractive furniture. Of the two en suite Shower/Bathrooms, the bathroom has a bath, shower attachment, basin and WC; the shower room has a shower, basin and WC. There is also another Shower room. Linen is included but please bring your swimming pool towels. There is a telephone (local calls) and possible internet connection.
