The property is set in large picturesque gardens with a lake and a swimming pool. It is on the outskirts of the attractive arcaded Bastide town of Monflanquin, in rural countryside and yet only 1 km from the town. The area is steeped in history having been part of the battlefield of the Hundred Years War. Many of the castles, villages and towns were built by the English (Aquitaine being British in the 13th Century on the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitane to Henry II). This mediaeval town, as like others was often built around arcaded market places, have remained largely unspoilt . There is a weekly market here and some very nice restaurants, shops and a supermarket.

The entrance opens to a large dining/ kitchen area, and sitting room with French doors out to a terrace. The property was recently renovated and the kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, a electric cooker, gas hob fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and kettle. The ding area has a large table and the sitting room has a large open fireplace, comfortable seating and satellite TV, (English free to air channels) a video and DVD player. It is also possible to connect to the internet( with you own computer)
On this floor is a shower room, separate WC, and Bedroom ( 1) with twin beds.

Upstairs is Bedroom ( 2) with double bed and en-suite shower room with shower, vanity unit and WC. Bedroom (3) has Bunk beds and Bedroom (4) has a small double (Or large single) bed. There is a bathroom with a corner bath vanity unit and separate WC. The linen is for hire and is duvets with a mix of English and French pillows.

From the French doors there is a nice part -covered terrace, with views to the lake. The other side of the house is a 11m x5m swimming pool with roman steps. There are large lawns and fruit trees in the garden.

The property is situated next to two other neighbouring properties , one of which the owners are on site for any information and if the other property ( Pruneau Cottage) is let at the same time then the swimming pool would be shared.
