This beautiful 19th century Quercy stone farmhouse has been completely restored and modernized recently and is a wonderful home to stay in the rural countryside not far from Cahors in the “Lot” department of South-West France. The home is about 15 kms from Cahors, which was a flourishing commercial university city in the middle ages and is, of course, world famous for its dark red full bodied wine. The old town around the Cathedral has a large attractive market, shops and typical French street cafes and restaurants. It is the County town of the Lot department and is contained by a large U bend of the river. There is a notable landmark of 14 century bridge, the Pont de Valentre. It is also about 11 kms from the 13th century town of Castelnau-Montratier. This pretty bastide town has a market each Sunday morning, local shops, banks, and two restaurants/bars. It is in an excellent location for sightseeing or just taking a relaxing peaceful holiday.
The house has a open plan sitting/Dining room and Kitchen. The Kitchen is very well equipped with an integral electric oven, integral microwave, a large gas hob, dishwasher, a very large USA fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and table and chairs. The sitting area has a wood burner, comfortable sofa and chairs. There is Sat TV and a music player. From here is Bedroom (1) which has twin beds or together as a double bed with and a shower room en suite(1) with shower, basin and WC. Downstairs is a hallway to Bedroom (2) with double bed and an en suite bathroom (2) with bath, basin and WC. Bedroom (3) has a double bed and there is a large bathroom with walk in shower, bath, basin and WC. There is a utility room in an outbuilding which has a washing machine and dryer and a WC.
Outside the house is surrounded by a lawn and flower beds with views over the Cezac valley and countryside. There is a south-facing swimming pool, which measures 10m X 5 m, which can be heated on request (at an extra charge). There is a paved terrace and BBQ.
Linen is included but please bring your swimming pool towels. There are tennis courts down the lane so please bring your rackets. There is no telephone at the house so please bring your mobiles. Click here for more photos
