The lovely property ‘Genibret’ is ideal for a large family, or several friends joining together on holiday as the main part of the house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, then on the lower floor there are 2 apartments. The first apartment has 1 bedroom and shower room and the second apartment has 2 bedrooms with a shower room. These are accessible from stairs inside the main house or independently from outside.

 

The house is situated in rolling, rural countryside, overlooking its own beautiful oak woodland with far reaching views. From the verander the Pyrénéese Moutains are visible on a clear day.

It is siuated between the medieval, bastide towns of Castelnau-Montratier, Lauzerte and Montcuq which are well worth exploring.  Each town boasts a tourist office, various shops, supermarket, post office, garage, chemist, doctor and dental surgery. The market day in Lauzerte is on Saturdays in the arcaded  Place des Cornieres, whereas Montcuq (the biggest market) and Castelnau Montratier have theirs on a Sunday. The latter is a  favourite venue for tourists where you can absorb the ambience from one of the café/bistros in the main square. Less than 30 minutes away by car is the delightful town of Cahors with its 700 year old  Ponte Valentre, the main boulevard has many boutique shops, two fountains and plenty of restaurants/café/bistros for that essential outdoor French lunch.  During the summer numerous fêtes and festivals take place with live music and entertainment.

       

The main entrance to the house leads to a hallway and WC. There is a large sitting/dining room with comfortable seating, open fireplace and satellite TV and DVD player.  The dining area has a table to seat 6 people. The well equipped kitchen/diner consists of a large 6 ring Gas Hob and a built in Electric Oven, Double Sink, Fridge, Dishwasher, Microwave and Coffee Machine. The kitchen doors open out to a large enclosed veranda, offering views across to the pool and garden..  Along the hallway is a small TV or reading room. On this floor there are 2 bedrooms, Bedroom 1 has twin beds and Bedroom 2  has a 4'-6" double bed. There is a bathroom, with bath, shower, double basin and WC.

Upstairs is Bedroom 3, with 4'-6" double bed and a very large Shower room, with shower, double basin, bidet and WC. This floor also has office/reading room.

On the lower floor of the main house stairs lead down to the utility room with washing machine and drying facilities. Here are the 2 apartments, the first is an open plan studio style apartment with a 4'-6" double bed, sofa and dining table and chairs There is a en-suite shower room with basin and a  separate WC. It has a fitted kitchen with 4-ring gas hob, electric combi- oven/grill and fridge.  The entrance door leads straight out onto the sun terrace overlooking the swimming pools. The second apartment is connected by an integral door or, again, an entrance door leading straight out onto the sun terrace. There are 2 bedrooms, Bedroom 1, has a 4'-6" double bed and Bedroom 2 has twin beds. There is a shower room with shower, basin and WC. The fitted kitchen has a hob, combi-oven/grill, fridge and table and chairs.  This apartment also has a very nice sitting area.

Linen is included but please bring your swimming pool towels. There is a telephone for local use so  bring your mobiles for any other calls please.

Outside the house is a shingle terrace area, overlooking the swimming pool and garden. The 11m x 5 m swimming pool is surrounded by a decking terrace, with sunbeds and views across the valley. In the large garden there is also a tennis court which can be floodlit.
