Cantauriol is a beautifully restored stone farmhouse, near the sleepy village of Lacour de Visa in South-West France. Situated on a plateau, the property has magnificent views across the valley. The small, quiet village nearby has a café/restaurant and another 6kms drive away is the town of Montaigu de Quercy with its Saturday market. Also at Montaigu de Quercy there is a great leisure lake with sand beaches, waterslides, paddle boats, canoes for hire, picnic tables plus a Bistro/bar. A lovely place to spend a day. If you are feeling energetic you can use the tennis courts, public courts can also be found in the town centre. Whereas Montaigu de Quercy’s market is on Saturday mornings you will find other markets in different towns and villages for every day of the week. So no excuse for not being able to buy fresh produce all the time. Fêtes and music concerts take place throughout the area during the season. This pretty unspoilt rural countryside is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing and horse riding, visiting historic towns and villages, or just lazing in the sun by the swimming pool.

The property is approached from a driveway, with parking in an open fronted barn.
The accommodation has been comfortably furnished, having been restored to retain its charm and character, with beams, stone walls and the original stone ‘evier’ sink in the sitting room.
From a delightful covered terrace there is the entrance into a well-equipped fitted kitchen/dining are, containing a gas cooker/hob, a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine and a table & chairs.

The sitting room has a wood burner and very comfortable sofas, Sky TV, and a DVD player. From here another door leads out to another small terrace area, which is perfect for the evening aperitifs.
On this floor is a family bathroom with free standing bath, basin and WC.

 

There are 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom with a king size bed, private dressing area and an en suite shower room with shower, basin and WC. The second bedroom has a double bed and a door leading out to the garden and pool area.
The third bedroom is reached upstairs, with a landing area leading into the very large, light & airy bedroom. There is a double bed, sitting area and a sofa bed, suitable for a child or young adult. There is a “Jack & Jill” en suite shower room, (2 entrance doors) with a large walk in shower, basin and WC.
(It is possible to have 2 single beds to replace the double bed if preferred) Linen is included. There is no telephone, but mobiles work and there is internet connection.

A summer kitchen/washroom is accessed downstairs with washing machine, drying area (inside and out) and an extra fridge /freezer if required.

Outside, the house is encompassed by lawns and flower beds. The south facing swimming pool, which measures 11m x 5 m has a roman style end. It is surrounded by a paved terrace with garden furniture and a sun sail.

In the grounds there is also a old stone ruin, situated in an area on the other side of the owners property. This area has stone seating and views from a balcony area over the valley. A grass path leads down to some swings and carries on to a track , to walk and explore.
The owners property is accessed by a separate entrance and the owner can assist with any information if required.
